Emmeline (Brooke Shields), Richard (Christopher Atkins) e o marinheiro Paddy Button (Leo McKern) são os únicos sobreviventes de um naufrágio. Após ficarem à deriva por várias horas eles vão parar em uma ilha tropical que é um verdadeiro paraíso.

Basil Poledouris (1945–2006) também compôs as trilhas de "Caninos Brancos" (1991), "A Caçada ao Outubro Vermelho" (1990) e "Robocop - O Policial do Futuro" (1987).
