Um saxofonista (Robert De Niro) e uma jovem cantora (Liza Minnelli) se conhecem e embarcam em um romance tenso e difícil, enquanto suas carreiras começam a decolar.
A trilha sonora foi composta e organizada por Ralph Burns (1922-2001). Ele trabalhou em "Cabaret" (1972), "Piaf" (1974) e "Férias Frustradas" (1983).
